We Want them to be in HOT WATER!

We want them in HOT WATER!

When Sr. Angela started the Nyaatha Educational Endowment Fund, the purpose was to provide the needed funds to educate poor Kenyan children who would otherwise be living on the streets with no hope for a bright future. Education is the number one priority of NEEF.

Nyaatha Ray of Hope-NROH- exists to support this mission of the Assumption Sisters of Eldoret, Kenya.

Sr. Caroline Ngatia opened the Dorothea Rescue Centre for girls in June 2021 as a place for young girls rescued from the streets of Nairobi. They need time at the Dorothea Centre to learn a new way of life.

Education is the goal, yet before a street child is ready to be sent to school, they must be rescued from the street life, and rehabilitated. This rehabilitation rests on this principle: you are worthy. You are a child of God.

The Dorothea Rescue Centre for Girls, like the Kwetu Home for Boys, rescues and rehabilitates-readying children for the hope of education. Each Assumption Sister of Eldoret is “Nyaatha”- a “Mother of Mercy” to the children at these homes.

The newly opened (June 2021) Dorothea Rescue Centre for Girls is still undergoing phases of construction. A recent project need is the installation of a water system to provide hot water to these girls who come there from the streets. Just as we consider hot water a necessity, let us consider it a necessity for these girls. Yes, they are worthy. The cost of the project is $8,000.

Update: This project received funding: see Advent/Christmas Newsletter December 2021.

Education is our goal for these worthy children, yet steps must be taken to care for them and ready them. You may be called to contribute to a “special project” which contributes to the rehabilitation process, or you may be called to directly support education through tuition assistance. Will you pray about this? The blessing of helping these worthy children will far outweigh the sacrifice you make.

Education for these children is our goal. If you wish to contribute directly to the education of our children, please donate to Nyaatha Ray of Hope PO Box 107, Holt, MI 48842 or on our website, www.nyaatharayofhope.org.
