The Vision

Every Life Has Value

The Assumption Sisters of Edoret (ASE) value education.  Through the establishment of schools and as experienced educators, they have participated in the transformation of lives, families and society.

One ASE, Sr. Angela Adhiambo, received advanced education in social work in the United States. Giving back to Kenyans in gratitude for her experiences she has spent decades working in the rehabilitation of children accustomed to spending their days and nights on the streets.  Offering an alternate form a life to them would naturally include the gift of formal education.  Sr. Angela’s vision is the hope of an education for boys and girls from desperate backgrounds who have inherent dignity as children created in the image and likeness of God. She and the community of the Assumption Sisters recognize this.  Sharing this vision with others makes it a reality.

The Nyaatha Educational Endowment Fund (NEEF) began in Kenya in 2015 as a partnership between the ASE and other concerned Kenyans who share this vision.   The goal of NEEF is the funding of secondary and post-secondary education for children transitioning from rehabilitation centers, children from desperate backgrounds, and girls at risk. In 2019 NEEF received final approval from the Kenyan government to operate as founded.

In 2017 Nyaatha Ray of Hope (NROH) was founded in the U.S. to assist in the mission of the ASE and NEEF.  In 2018 NROH received 501(C)(3) status making all contributions in the U.S. tax-deductible. NROH is a non-profit corporation run by volunteers who share in the vision of the ASE and NEEF.

Our common mission can be summed up as follows:

We are all created in the image and likeness of God.  We are all brothers and sisters with a common Father.  In Him we live and move and have our being.  In the name of His Son, Jesus our brother, we are compelled to give HOPE to children.
